I have seen many writers speak in this novelist’s forum. Although they all talk about novels, everyone has different views on the problem, which is very important because it constitutes a dialogue. This is a dialogue era. Writing is a dialogue, reading is a dialogue speech, and a dialogue speech is also a dialogue. It may be a real dialogue or a fallacy dialogue, but the opposite of truth is not necessarily a fallacy, and the opposite of falsehood may not be true. It is a face-to-face conversation. In fact, human language activities are all dialogue texts. However, the activities are also listed here. I want to start with a comment I just wrote to Mr. Zhang Dachun on the novel category at the invitation of a friend. I don’t know Mr. Zhang Dachun, and I know that he is a professor at Fu Jen University in Taiwan Province. I also read his monument to the four worried countries in a magazine before writing a novel. He seems to be a pioneer in Taiwan Province, Bai Xianyong and Chen Yingzhen. Their differences are mainly due to their different narrative methods. Probably, when he wrote that comment, I could feel our attitude towards the novel. Of course, he sees many things in common, and he is more detailed than me, and he asks me questions. I think he fights with Mr. Ge Fei, the most inquisitor in Chinese mainland, but I also feel very clearly that Mr. Zhang Dachun is different. He wrote in Chinese at the end of the twentieth century and the beginning of the twenty-first century. What will be so different? I think it is mainly because of the context difference that he wrote in Taiwan Province and we wrote in the mainland. For him, the history has ended, the marathon has hit the line, but our history has not yet ended. Of course, we can also feel the pressure of history. I will call it the titleSimple, that is to say, it’s not about writing context. It’s the same as writing context in China. It feels the same vitality in history. Isn’t it very different for many people to write? My statement is easy to misunderstand. I know that people will say that you should write this sentence. Of course, you should not be afraid of differences, but you are afraid of no differences. If people write the same thing, then we can just look at one person. Why do you have to kill and feed the dog? I have to explain quickly. I mean, it’s not a real family. I mean, what will he continue to write After becoming famous, he still has to write, even if he can’t reach the height he once reached. He still has to write a novelist. What should he be like in reality? How should a novelist make a commitment to writing in this historical context? What is the first problem that every family has to encounter? Perhaps everyone can do this. It seems needless to say that elegant and inexperienced people talked about Kafka’s case, which is a famous case-solving in literature and history. He talked about Kafka’s will, which can best reveal Kafka’s key problem before he died. Will be left to a friend Blaude let Blaude destroy Blaude violated this will, but Kafka. I don’t believe that you can write, but it’s actually a perfunctory word. I reread the Czech Ivan Krima’s conversation with American Philip Roth earlier. Ivan Krima’s question and answer on this question really won my heart. He said that writing is the most important way for a person to become a person in this era because many talented people will write as their lifelong career. Ji Xiaolan and China described the novelist as an official and historian in ancient times. While novels offend true knowledge, they may also offend morality, ethics, customs, rituals, teachings, politics and law. Dostoevsky Tolstoy’s writing doubts will give us a lot of enlightenment, but I hope that today’s writings are similar to those of masters, and people will look up to them. I think this is an absurd idea, a kind of knowing idea. How can Qian Shan Wanshui be like that after two centuries of long nights? I really want to say that the person who is least like Tolstoy may be this era. Tolstoy said that Tolstoy wrote his own words and named his times. Then an important task for this era is to name his own times. I feel that it is equally important to re-examine and express those unnamed experiences, especially the mutual modernity of different languages andI saw a novel a few years ago, and I also discussed it in Gefei’s speech. In fact, it was complicated, but it could be solved in many ways than ours. The girl was actually waiting to be refused a visa because she actually didn’t want to go to England. Many problems are all trapped animals and still fighting for us. Our novels need to present such an experience consciously. This presentation process is the naming process. I met an interesting story not long ago, and maybe one day I will write it as a novel. Now, in the city, people buy furniture, and the living room is antique. From the countryside, cleaning furniture becomes a new fashion. A place in Beijing is called Gaobeidian, which goes from Henan to Beijing and leaves Beijing. Recently, that car is Gaobeidian, where a street sells furniture like this. I saw many foreigners selling furniture there and told me that foreigners were all consigned to foreign countries in boxes. I saw a thing there that was feeding horses in rural areas. The shopkeeper told foreigners that these mangers were all for putting flowers, but when foreigners bought them, they would let them put flowers. I also saw red lanterns hanging high, and my fourth aunt sang Lian knocked on her feet. It seemed that someone had pointed out that this was a pseudo-folk custom, but now people in the store told me when it came from a big family and later generations. Foreigners from there are very China people and shopkeepers say that many stars often play the emperor, that actor plays the gentry and that actor comes here to buy things. I feel that this is the time when the story is being told all the time in a metropolis shop that faces farmland, highways and Beijing. The story contains a very complicated cultural implication, which is more complicated than the unification of East and West, and the combination of the West and China. Nouns become a narrative style title, and another word is "Yiyan Yiyan", which means ancient water container village. Language means that the water in a wine glass will take different forms depending on the shape of the wine glass. I think in such a cultural background novel, the water in a wine glass should be able to name this complex cultural reality in its own way, that is, to express it in writing. Of course, this expression will make people feel uncomfortable. I feel that I have just made some efforts in this respect in my novel, and of course, it also makes some friends feel uncomfortable.The process of cultural transformation is a projection of various difficult problems in rural China, many of which are beyond our imagination. I think we haven’t entered the rural area for a long time to talk about many problems. It’s one thing whether I write this novel well or not, but I must touch it. I think I touched it. I should be ashamed of course, but I don’t need to be very ashamed. At one time in the 1910 s, the literary circles discussed that novel writing had changed from what to how to write it. Now it seems that this statement is too simple. Ridiculous. The importance of what to write and how to write it should be said that it has always been the same, and they are inseparable. Thousands of years ago, Zhuang made the problem clear in one word, but for the convenience of discussion, I want to bring it up again because of various specific writing methods. I think it is very important that Mr. Geng Zhanchun’s narrative is beautiful. Mr. Geng Zhanchun is a very important critic in my mind, and his insights are all warm. He talks about a new novel here. The form is an encyclopedic novel. I have noticed that Zhang Dachun’s novels also talked about this issue. I think this involves some thoughts on how to write in our time. Geng Zhanchun and Zhang Dachun all quoted a passage from Calvino’s memorandum in the next Millennium. Modern novels are an encyclopedic method of seeking knowledge, especially a kind of things in the world. Zhang Dachun said that this novel was eloquent and whispered lies in a furnace, and an encyclopedic encyclopedia said that such a novel form is new. People may disagree that the Bible is an encyclopedic Sima Qian.I doubt that I can be tongue-tied. The only thing I can argue is that this is a novel, not a historical scripture. Otherwise, we wouldn’t say that the novel is a very high realm. For China’s reading and writing, it should be admitted that our literary system is rooted in a saying that all drums are played in the bright moonlight after cleaning a dozen wheat fields. Although it is a story of heroes and beauties, its basic idea is to tell a personal experience, success or failure, personal experience, good and evil, loyalty and betrayal. Summarize its understanding of history to realize its enlightenment to people. Now, such an encyclopedic novel partially deviates from this system. I think its purpose is to activate and rebuild the novel’s real history and its current background. Of course, first of all, it is because the novelist has doubts about the concept of the historical category and the traditional theory in the contemporary complex context. I think the most important factor may also be that it shows that the novelist is dissatisfied with the single discourse world and refuses to admit that the novelist may rely on the dialogue of various elements before seeking this world. Truth is in my hands, the only true opposite is falsehood. This unified expression is obviously a problem. Now this novel should be a dialogue at all discourse meeting points and various knowledge exhibitions. I feel that I have made such efforts in the coloratura of novels. Similar examples are actually better than those suggested by Mr. Han Shaogong’s Maqiao Dictionary. Probably because of this, I have a high opinion of Han Shaogong’s Maqiao Dictionary. As far as I know, most of my contemporaries do not agree with Han’s efforts, but this does not mean that I reject my idea that a novel should be able to rebuild the reality of novels. It should be linked to the fiction department.It doesn’t really matter whether such a novel is an encyclopedic novel or not. What matters is that the novel department needs such a machine dialogue questioning machine. Even if it is about dinosaur stories, I haven’t thought clearly, and I may never think clearly about the situation. On the contrary, it may be some confused words. I said that my feelings are reading my thoughts, not expressing confusion, but seeking dialogue. Mr. Ge Fei told me a lot of questions about Daiyu’s walking posture and seat cushions all the way in Suzhou, which is very interesting.

In the joint literature and art, there will be a change in people’s minds, but this will reach the realm of benevolence, and the benevolence lies in Confucius. The ideology is the most important concept. Its basic meaning is that everyone gets along harmoniously, and benevolence is to love others. In China, the word benevolence is composed of two characters. Kong also believes that beauty is good literature and art is beauty because it broadcasts good and healthy thoughts. To say that China’s most important literary style is realistic literary style should not be exaggeration, whether it is Han Fu or Tang Poetry, whether it is Song Ci or Yuan Qu or Qing novel. We all know that people’s language was spoken in Confucius more than 2,400 years ago, and people can still understand it today. It is hard to imagine English before Shakespeare in all countries in the world. Now it is hard for the British to understand it. It is said that China culture has a rare vitality, but when China contemporary writers wrote it, the language in Confucius era has changed a lot. The words are still those words, but the grammar has changed, and the words have changed. This is because around 1917, a famous new culture movement in China was launched in China, which was initiated by less knowledge. One of the important points of this movement was to call on people to call on vernacular Chinese to be called classical Chinese in China, and then vernacular Chinese. However, it is an important fact that China’s Qing novels are all based on vernacular novels, which are very close to the current language. We can recognize that China’s current language, including vernacular Chinese, can be regarded as a development from Qing novels to a great extent, and without Pushkin, it would not exist. China’s vernacular poetry and vernacular novels did not exist now after the New Culture Movement of Qing Dynasty, so we can say that there was no vernacular poetry and vernacular novels in China now. From this, we can see how great China has influenced the reality of China. It has also affected our tongues and our thinking. It is necessary to say that in the Qing Dynasty, the family wanted to write in vernacular, and people may say that it was home. A family in China, including me, first lived in China Wentong. In the 1910 s, western literature and art entered China in large quantities. A group of people see how much hope we see when we see failures in them. Of course, more often we see confusion. My other interest is to describe rural areas in China. Great changes when the wave of globalization has swept through the rural areas of China, we will really realize that China has changed greatly now. China is the country that most westerners have not understood China after reading it. I think Spain can learn about the reality of contemporary China from China, but if you really want to know about China, you’d better go to China to see it. When you get in touch with the reality of China, you may get a deeper understanding of the realism of China and how hard it has worked to realize the reality of China.

After the 1990s, a series of profound changes will take place in China, which are far beyond people’s cultural imagination. Statistics show that 70% of the world’s large-scale lifting equipment and 70% of the cement are in China. A foreign country told me that he used to be a crane as the national bird of China. When the plane flew to China, he saw a group of cranes on the wing. Later, he discovered that it was actually to demolish houses and build a big crane. We all know that the English word rane contains the meaning of big crane. Translate China’s English name China into Chinese. The year before last, I went to Switzerland for a festival and saw an apple tree in the landlord’s yard. Although I tasted the apple tree, I still didn’t recognize it as an apple tree, especially in the ancient temple of China. Its real age is 104 years old. I believe it is not unexpected that such an apple tree can’t be found in 9.6 million square kilometers of land in China. A China man who came from the 20th century wants him to be a touching historical experience. He has three different experiences, one is socialist experience, the other is market-oriented experience, and the other is spheroidizing experience gained after being deeply involved in spheroidization after the 1990s. These three experiences correspond to three different eras, and one era can be regarded as both development and retribution for another era. For a historical essay, these three experiences are actually superimposed on each other. Infiltration and magma in the earth’s crust generally churned and stirred, but when we really tried to describe this complex experience in a novel way, we felt that it was difficult, because for more than 2,000 years, China’s literature and history, from poetry and music to Qing novels to Lu Xun and westerner Shen Congwen, had never been involved in this experience, and the western modernist movements, from Flaubert to Sartre, from Proust to Robert Gerye, had influenced China’s family creation at a certain stage, but these families had never been involved in this experience. When the country was written to a large extent as an independent exploration, I said in Madrid when I was talking to Spanish families that China was faced with this complex experience, and when I wrote it, my figure was reminiscent of Don Quixote who challenged the windmill. But how much can the western family record institutions know about the achievements made by China in this complex experience?
More than once, I have heard critics say that the surge in the number of novels in China after the 1990s was influenced by marketization, but critics, including some literary historians, failed to explain this phenomenon. Although the pace of modern life is getting faster and faster, people should read short stories, but they strangely choose to buy more time-consuming novels. The reason is that compared with other styles of novels, it is possible to absorb more complicated experiences, and we hope that our complicated experiences can be verified in novels. Therefore, we see that almost all important contemporary writers are devoted to novel creation and our novels are getting longer and longer. The latest example is that Mr. Zhang Wei, a Shandong family, has a novel of 4.5 million words. I suspect that this is the longest novel in human history. Another example is that Mr. Shi Tiesheng has just gone to a famous family, and history may prove that Mr. Shi Tiesheng is here. The position of literature and history is comparable to that of Mr. Lu Xun, but what I want to say here is not the position of other languages, but that the radius of daily life is relatively narrow. In the last few years of his life, he also devoted himself to the creation of novels, and the practice of creating novels in China is often not understood by foreign critics. I have heard foreign critics criticize the novels in China for getting longer and longer. They think this is a sign of laziness in China, saying that the China family is not responsible for reading, and fully understanding the complexity of China’s experience can help us understand why China will make such arduous efforts at the cost of their own lives.
Let me go back to the festival in front of me again and go to the apple tree in Switzerland. China’s literary style can be roughly summed up in four words, that is, elegance.
I don’t know how to translate this word into English. I can roughly say one or four words. Elegance means to express one’s feelings, to be able to absorb nutrients from the history of China’s Confucian classics, and to melt the history into a furnace wind. It means to praise people who are beyond secular feelings, to show their noble spirit, to show the tension in the secular world, and to be able to transcend this tension. Generally speaking, elegance requires that economists should be able to go deep into their lives and express their spiritual world through their daily lives. Critics in China call this method of observation, thinking and writing nothing more than it.
Different from the 1990s, I have been reading a lot of China’s classical novels, namely, China’s unified culture. I think it may be that I have reached middle age. After that, I gradually agreed with China’s unified culture, but at the same time, I strongly feel that it is impossible to write China’s unified novels. No one can return to China with a classical meaning through the long night of the twentieth century. It can be said that whether you write western-style modernist novels, post-modernist novels or China’s Dream of Red Mansions novels is important for China to write. It is an illegal novel for China when it comes to reality. This is because the reality of China has undergone tremendous changes. The reality of China has been quite different from that of China a year ago. At the same time, it is also quite different from that of the West. China must find a new narrative way to cope with the current complicated situation in China. In this sense, the country is now creating a new unified kind, which is different from China’s unified literature and modern western literature. This writing significance may not be shown in literature and history until several years later.

Looking through China’s modern literature and history, we will find that the most important theme of novels is enlightenment. Almost every novel, especially novels, contains images of knowledge. They will change and intervene. Usually, the object of enlightenment is China people, that is, farmers, and the enlightenment tools are from the west. The purpose of enlightenment is to tell people that if we want to become rich and our nation-state wants to become strong, we must take a different road, that is, the socialist road.
However, from 1949, China’s knowledge division suddenly became a failed role in China’s novels. This is a major turning point in knowledge division. Knowledge has changed from enlightenment to enlightenment overnight. Compared with farmers, it has now become enlightenment. Farmers’ knowledge division is mainly about sharing knowledge with them, not living in life, but also giving up personal feelings. At that time, the term was bourgeois individualism and giving up critical concepts. In other words, farmers asked them to give up their knowledge division.
Until the end of the Cultural Revolution, there were actually two kinds of characters in China’s novels, which formed a stubborn binary opposition pattern. One of them was peasant workers, and they could be collectively referred to as the masses. They were regarded as the embodiment of progressive, private, hard-working and simple music, full of revolutionary heroism, and the other was the embodiment of knowledge. They were regarded as backward, private, vain and lazy, immersed in the corrupt passion of bourgeois individualism. For a long time, when national novels expressed knowledge, they were not paying tribute to the masses. I belittle myself by paying tribute to the public. It can be said that for a long time, the country actually gave up a basic function of knowledge. I once expressed in a number of novels that China’s knowledge was actually living outside the body, and he faithfully expressed his experience and his wishes. They wrote reality as a kind of castration.
Anyone familiar with China’s contemporary literature and history knows that 1985 was an important turning point in China’s literature. From that year, the knowledge sharing among the masses in China’s novels was re-examined. It was emphasized that the faces of the masses were no longer the same, but the images were different. When the weaknesses of the masses were re-exposed, China’s knowledge sharing destiny was re-recognized. However, we must admit that until today, China’s knowledge sharing destiny, and all kinds of complicated entanglements in China’s history were not presented in China’s novels.
In the process of writing, I am most interested in the topic of knowledge divided into destiny. I published a novel in coloratura, hoping that this novel would do some research on the mass history of knowledge divided into revolution. When writing, I realized that the actual situation in China has changed a lot. On the one hand, the secularization wave has swept through the western developed countries in China, and the economic and cultural products have flooded into the streets and lanes of China. On the other hand, the political structure of China society has not changed fundamentally. In the ideological field, history is still with it. Strong inertia is sliding forward. On the one hand, China seems to have entered the post-modern period, and the international society will be fully integrated. On the other hand, many aspects of China society are still in the pre-modern period. This is a special Chinese situation.
Because in the pre-modern period, a kind of ignorance and oppression that can be called unified pain is more violent than poverty still makes China suffer from conscience. In conscience, all countries can always feel this kind of pain, which is unbearable. Polish milosz once compared Poland to another Europe, which means that although Poland belongs to Europe, the Poles still live in a historical process that has long been out of date in Europe and suffer from that kind of outdated pain. China’s current situation milosz once described the great similarity of the situation in a certain place. In this sense, China can also be described as another Asia and another East, but I think whether it is Asia, Africa or Europe and America, we should have a world vision and a clear sense of history, and he will realize that the heavy pain in China is still of universal significance.
In addition, China has been deeply involved in the wave of globalization and secularization. China’s knowledge points also feel another kind of pain, which is relatively new to China people. That is, after China’s dream of utopia for a hundred years was shattered, the knowledge points were empty, and the sense of power was suppressed due to the rule of modern technology. After the desire was released, this fresh pain may be said to be lighter by Milan Kundera. More often, the knowledge points in China’s novels hovered around these two kinds of pains and made a lament.
Finally, I want to say that it is an important chapter in China’s novels to focus on light and complex writing. A nation-state has dreamed of practicing China’s knowledge for hundreds of years, and its success and failure are also presented in this light and heavy writing.
